NHA Supports Georgia’s Energy Sector Diversification Efforts and its Role in the Global Energy Transition

About us

The National Hydrogen Association (NHA) was founded in 2021 to support the practical implementation of global energy transition goals in Georgia by working on the development of country's hydrogen sector. NHA has been rapidly expanding its activities and attracting participation from a wide range of professionals in the energy, scientific research and business sectors. The Association acts as a platform for advancement of hydrogen research and development and works to bridge Georgia’s clean hydrogen potential with national and international actors and opportunities in the energy and climate fields.

Our vision

Georgia's diverse natural environment allow for an array of clean energy generation opportunities. Thanks to the vast mountain ranges, hydropower is the largest available renewable energy resource in Georgia. Up to 80% of Georgia’s domestically generated electricity comes from renewable sources. These natural circumstances provide Georgia with the critical resource needed to generate and adopt new and clean energy such as green hydrogen. Georgia is a member of the Energy Community and an EU Associated country. Its energy sector reforms are guided by Energy Community principles and international climate goals. Georgia’s natural environment, policy priorities and strategic commitments align with the international impetus driving the global energy transition and the subsequent clean hydrogen sector development.
